Kargil

Kargil is uniquely identified for its mixed population belonging to many countries, races and religions, including Hindus, Dhards, Muslims and Tibetan descendants. Zanskar resembles a valley filled with fields and greenery with many untold stories. The twin lakes known as Lang Tso and Stat Tso around the corner of Pensi pass opens the windows of adventures leading to Zanskar Valley.

One of the most perilous treks in the world, the Chadar Trek requires you to cover around 105 kilometers on the frozen river of Zanskar. Kargil War Memorial is built by the Indian Army in the small town of Dras. Mulbekh Monastery can be found around 45 kilometres from Kargil and you can learn about the history of the monastery. This statue beholds the highway and it measures nine meters.  

Drass Valley is the coldest region in India, and the second coldest in the world as the temperatures run as low as -40 degree celsius in peak winters. Suru Valley is most popularly known for its twin peaks, the Nun and Kun Peak. You can find various activities like rafting, biking, camel safari, shopping, trekking and more. The locals here are very friendly in nature. They greet you with respect and offer their help whenever possible.
