Hemis National Park

 

Hemis National Park is located in the eastern part of Ladakh. Hemis National Park is described as the largest national park in South Asia. The space stretches over 4400 square kilometers. The park is a harbor to 16 species of mammals and 73 birds. The park is also a hearth and a home for endangered mammals like Asiatic ibex, the Eurasian brown bear, leopards, Tibetan wolf and the red fox.

 

If your hobby appreciates bird watching, then this destination is your favorite spot. There are six villages that dwell within the park. They are Rumbak, Kaya, Sku, Shingo, Urutse and Chilling. The park also comprises of monasteries and stupas. It is startling to note that within the park, you can visit Hemis Monastery as a fringe benefit. You can immerse yourself in a calm sitting and turn your worries into a whirl wind of peaceful meditation.
